IKOS Systems Announces VStation-5Mx Emulation Replicate
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 8, 2001--
IKOS Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:IKOS) today announced the availability
of its latest product offering, the VStation-5Mx Replicate Station.
The VStation-5Mx multiplies the power of emulation with replicated
emulation systems for in-circuit and targetless system-level
verification of complex sub-micron SoC designs. The ability to verify
hardware and software in parallel is the true power of this solution.
The IKOS VirtualWires technology used in full-featured VStation
systems ensures that the same database can be reliably implemented in
every replicated VStation hardware solution. The result of this
technology advantage is that users are expected to be able to cost
effectively shave months of their verification schedules by using
these parallel verification methodologies.
``Customers are very excited about this solution,'' commented Linda
Prowse Fosler, vice president of marketing. ``They are quick to see
that replicates give them the ability to involve the whole team early,
dramatically shorten the verification cycle, and enable them to get to
market earlier. At less than four cents per ASIC gate, customers can
acquire as many replicates as they need to achieve maximum
productivity gains. We will also be creating a replicate solution for
VStation-15M which will be available in early 2002.''
VStation-5Mx Expands IKOS Breakthrough Co-modeling Capability
Both VStation-5M and 5Mx solutions offer IKOS' breakthrough
co-modeling capability. Co-modeling enables high-performance
system-level verification using abstract system models running on a
workstation connected to the design under test through a high-speed
interface between the workstation and VStation-5M and 5Mx. The systems
can be used for co-modeling and traditional in-circuit emulation.
Designers can perform concurrent hardware and software verification
and ensure that the chip works in the system environment before
committing to silicon.
``We are very pleased to see IKOS introduce the VStation-5Mx. By
making it easy and cost effective to extend access to emulation beyond
the core development team, the VStation-5Mx will enable valuable
advances in software co-development and system validation. It is
especially exciting that this new platform fully leverages our
existing investment in the Vstation-5M and its verification
environment,'' noted Chris Malachowsky, vice president of engineering
for NVIDIA Corp.
IKOS Systems' Fully Compatible Compilation
The VStation-5Mx uses the proven compiled database from the
VStation-5M. This provides a known database and environment for the
total hardware and software design team. The hardware design team
chooses when the design is stable enough for the balance of the team
to start the system integration verification. The existing database is
then loaded onto one or multiple VStation-5Mxs.
The IKOS technology ensures that all systems function exactly the
same with the same database. With all systems using the same database,
there is no verification-based uncertainty. Debug is provided by the
VStation-5M full emulation system. The VStation-5Mx is available now
from IKOS at prices as low as four cents per ASIC gate.
